During the University's INSPIRED campaign, more than 64,000 people donated $1 billion. The campaign was the largest philanthropic effort in Australian history.
The INSPIRED campaign was motivated by a desire to drive innovation, advance knowledge, pursue discoveries and leave an indelible mark on the wider world - a vision that reflects the mission of the University and our donors.
The billion-dollar milestone has been a transformative achievement. It allows us to undertake research and build initiatives that are changing lives and making a difference in our communities.
Since the campaign began in 2008, thanks to donor support we have:
- received support from more than 64,000 donors from across all seven continents, including a gift from Antarctica
- created more than 2000 scholarships
- developed more than 10 state-of-the-art buildings
- established more than 35 academic chairs and
- directed more than $368 million towards life-changing medical research.
